Documentary

The internationally famous Austrian director Curt Faudon accompanied the Vienna Boys Choir on their tours for one year. From the recorded material and shots, that were produced especially in the Green Screen Studio, and complete 3D animations which were edited and designed by us in cooperation with “postmen”, the approx. 1 1/2 hour long documentary / feature film “Bridging the Gap” were created.

Length: ca. 86 Min.
Format: Full-HD
Year: 2012

Our tasks in this project were very varied and ranged from simple keying and rotoscoping to complete 3D animations with e.g. CG animated whales.

We also generated low-poly variants of the Boys Choir in the Boat, which were completely rigged and animated for more distant and complete CG aerial shots. We were not only responsible for modelling, textering, rigging and animation, but also for the complete shading and rendering up to the final compositing.

Another exciting task was the credible integration of the rowing boys filmed in the green screen studio into a CG boat as well as into a complete generated ocean environment and the interaction of the paddles including water splashes. We did everything from 3D tracking, keying, rotoscoping, 3D animation and rendering to effects and color correction up to the finished shot.

In total we were responsible for about sixty Visual Effect Shots.

Our Tasks:

  • 3D Modelling
  • Texturing
  • Animation
  • Rendering
  • Visual Effects
  • Tracking
  • Keying
  • Rotoscopy
  • Matte Painting
  • Compositing
